Had a tremendous learning experience from Jamie Stegeman a certified field inspector for GROUNDWORKS formerly known as Innovative Basement Authority. Jamie did a very thorough inspection of my basement walls based on my concerns over cracks I noticed in my basement block walls. Using state of the art laser equipment Jamie examined and charted out the various movement taking place with the basement walls. He walked my through the process of his diagnosis and showed with a tape measure against the projected laser readings where my basement walls were both in and outside of engineering structural tolerances. Jamie was very knowledgeable, and patiently and professionally explained a plan to permantently stabilize my basement walls. Thank you Jamie for your expertise and willingness to share your time to help me understand the value of safetly proteting my family for years to come. We had our garage floor leveled and cracks filled and a basement wall waterproofed (gutter system with pump and wall seal) in Minneapolis in 2024. Both projects were done by people who take pride in their work and strive for the best outcome. Our garage floor was in sad shape, and Andrew spent extra time to get it as level as could be and filled the many cracks thoroughly. One side of the garage went up 4 inches to make it level again. As for our basement, Jeremiah T, Dion R, and Jaden R did a great job installing the gutter system under the floor with the pump, drainage, and wall seal membrane that went with it.

Jacob Kinsella Just completed my annual check on my sump pump and discharge system that was installed by groundwork’s. I cannot say enough, good about how thorough and professional he conducts The inspection. He gave me information straightforward and was more than willing to follow up with any concerns I might have. He even made certain I was able to contact him if I had any concerns. In a time it is challenging to find trustworthy and professional staff, Jacob’s reliability and trustworthiness was greatly appreciated. Chad was awesome on service day. Answered every question professionally and explained the job before start. After the job was complete he explained everything that was done again and presented pictures during the process. Very professional. The only complaint I have was after getting the total quote, I asked for a breakdown of cost 3 times and didn’t receive it until the working day before the job was to start, roughly 2 1/2 months after the initial quote. I had an absurd mobility charge that costed 1/3 of my total job cost that wasn’t explained until service day. So it made it very hard to cancel with such a long wait for the work in the first place or try and get additional bids without knowing exactly what I was paying for.

We just had a consultation by Logan J. to look over our basement and exterior grading; we were very pleased with the thoroughness of the inspection and the extensive information Logan was able to offer us. He was up-front about what we should be concerned about vs what are just aesthetic issues, and was able to give us some guidance on controlling moisture in the basement. For now we’re having Groundworks lift some concrete pads around the exterior of our home and plan to use them to lift our front porch this summer or next. I definitely recommend getting a consultation from Groundworks (especially Logan if you can!) to get a good understanding of the state of your home’s basement and foundation with no pressure or sales tactics.

Chad arrived on time for a one-year inspection of work completed last year. He was friendly, thorough, and professional. While inspecting the interior foundation, he noticed that I didn't have a backup sump system and provided a no-pressure quote. An hour and a half later I had a nice backup system in place – something I've wanted to take care of for 30 years – finally done! 🙂

I called Groundworks due to a sinking sidewalk and driveway issue on my 1-year-old build that I had purchased 6 months ago. Groundworks sent out John Maness who was the most professional, and knowledgeable inspector i have ever dealt with when dealing with companies that provide home services! Even though the company is located in Fargo, they sent him out in less than a week, and he was willing to work around my busy work schedule. Johns thorough attention to detail when inspecting my home highlighted not only the issue with my concrete, but also a few hidden issues with moisture that I did not know that I had. John was prepared with all the tools and knowledge necessary to inspect my house, and had a proposal ready to fix my issues within 2 hours! What was even more mind-blowing was the actual cost to repair my concrete, and mitigate the moisture issues that I had with my home was beyond reasonable!!! Also the after service care and service that will come with my repairs and equipment is amazing!!! This company is top-notch and they will not sell you anything they do not need. I had other questions about some things that I noticed with my foundation that i had concerns about. I was informed by john that they're not here to sell me something that I don't need and he was able to show me why the the perceived issues that I had were in fact not an issue. The whole process of repairs were outlined in easy to understand videos showing the root cause of my issues and how they can fix those issues permanently, not just a bandaid! The best part about it is they will come out annually to check their work and make sure that everything is still in working order, and that the repairs that they have made on my concrete is in fact still doing its job!! They had many options for payment to include financing at an amazing rate if someone were unable to afford the repair costs. The whole process was smooth and painless. I would 10/10 recommend ground works for any foundations issues that I had to anyone!!!! Thank you Groundworks for helping me protect my investment!
