Is Concrete Lifting Effective?
Concrete lifting services and processes have developed immensely over the last few decades and are now incredibly effective and durable! A professional will be able to tell you what solution works best for your unique situation.
Mudjacking
Mudjacking is an older solution that utilizes pressure and cement slurry to raise and set a sunken concrete slab once more. This is invasive and does not effectively address the root cause.
Mudjacking is not always suitable for use in properties that have problem soil. The cement used to raise and repair sunken slabs is slow to set and very heavy. This means that it may stress out already weak or loose soils, leading to the recurrence of the unevenness and sinking that it was intended to solve in the first place. As such, it has fallen out of favor somewhat.
PolyRenewal™ Foam
PolyRenewal two-part polyurethane foam is a more up-to-date process that uses the same basic principles as mudjacking. There are some differences, of course. The main difference is that this foam uses its own expansive force to lift a sunken concrete slab back into place. This, as well as the injection installation method, makes it less messy than mudjacking (which makes it far better for internal use).
Secondly, PolyRenewal™ is a lightweight, waterproof, and inert substance that will not overburden already weak or loose soil. Neither will it leach chemicals into the soil and, best of all, it will begin to cure within 15 minutes of its installation. This makes it far more convenient and effective in many ways and is part of the reason that it has become one of the most popular methods of concrete lifting on the market right now.
